Chelsea Piers Connecticut to Offer Ninja and Parkour Summer Camp Program

Chelsea Piers Connecticut to Offer Ninja and Parkour Summer Camp Program

The new summer camp program is inspired by the TV show 'American Ninja Warrior.'

Chelsea Piers Connecticut, an indoor sports facility, will offer Ninja and Parkour camp this summer. Last year, the sports camp offered a one-week pilot of Ninja and Parkour Camp, and due to its popularity, the program will be offered all summer this year. Camp will be held June 18-Aug. 31.

Inspired by the reality TV show American Ninja Warrior and basic parkour skills, the Ninja and Parkour Camp can be enjoyed by ages 5-13. This program has become very popular with both boys and girls, especially those into non-traditional gymnastics.

“The trend in reality TV shows depicting competitions has certainly increased interest in this type of activity,” says Richard Grundy, camp director. “The gymnastics facility allows children to practice in a safe environment.”

In an exciting way to stay active, kids can train with experienced instructors, face challenging obstacles, and learn flipping techniques within a safe environment.

Chelsea Piers Connecticut offers 35 different sports and training activities in its summer camp sessions. Other popular summer camp programs include Little Athletes Camps, such as swimming, gymnastics, and soccer, in which children ages 3-5 can learn new athletic skills.

“A lot of the Little Athletes classes are our most popular summer classes, as some parents use them as an opportunity to expose their children to new sports before committing to the longer fall semester,” Grundy says.

Grundy also mentioned Chelsea Piers offers a family membership that gives access throughout the entire facility. Being a family member means parents can join their children for certain events such as Family Night, Date Night, Winter Wonderland, Easter Party, complimentary clinics and workshops, as well as various drop-in activities.

Parents are encouraged to take advantage of Chelsea Piers Connecticut’s early-bird camp registration, which ends April 30. Early bird registration guarantees a spot (some camps do fill up quickly) at a discounted price. Walk-up registrations are usually accepted on any Monday, but certain camps may already be full.
