First Pediatric-Only Urgent Care Now Open in Manhattan

ProHEALTH Care understands the specific needs of younger patients and will be open from 7am-11pm, seven days a week.

Manhattan’s first urgent care just for pediatric patients, ProHEALTH Care, opened on the Upper East Side with a special community day on Saturday, Feb. 1. The urgent care clinic is staffed with pediatricians who understand the medical and emotional needs of pediatric patients, and will be open early and late so families can access care around their busy schedules. The community day featured free vision and hearing screenings, giveaways, and activities for kids. The care center will provide camp, sports and school physicals, rapid test results, and onsite X-rays for newborns through 18-year-olds, and will provide complimentary transportation for patients who need follow-up care.

“Kids get sick at all hours of the day and parents want access to a pediatrician who understands the medical needs of a younger patient,” says Zeyad Baker, M.D., president and CEO, ProHEALTH Care. “Most urgent cares don’t have a pediatrician on staff and waiting for a physician’s office to open or visiting an emergency room should not be the only options for patients to get pediatric care. In changing the model of care delivery and offering more specialized care centers, we can improve the quality of care to help people get better faster and return to their lives.”

The urgent care clinic will also improve access to care through online booking, little to no wait time, and kiosk sign-ins. ProHEALTH Care is the only urgent care network that is part of an integrated health system, so physicians can connect to more than 1,000 providers should you child need a specialist or a follow-up.  Most follow-up appointments will be made within 24 hours.

ProHEALTH Care’s pediatric urgent care will be open from 7am-11pm seven days a week, 365 days a year, making it Manhattan’s most accessible pediatric care center. ProHEALTH also offers a full range of primary and specialty care for everyone in the family, including ambulatory surgery and radiology services. For more information on care options or to book a pediatric appointment for your child, visit the care center’s website, then head to 1601 Third Ave. on the Upper East Side.
