It's July and summer is in full swing, which means there is no shortage of festivals, carnivals, fairs and family fun! Round up the kids and head to one (or a bunch!) of the festivals and carnivals in NYC (Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens), Westchester, Rockland and Long Island (Nassau and Suffok) listed below. July 2022 NYC Carnivals and Festivals in Manhattan, Bronx, Queens & Brooklyn

Go Africa Carnival

WHEN: Saturday, July 16, 10am-6pm
WHERE: Harlem, NY, 116th St. between 7th Ave. & 8th Ave., Harlem
WHAT: Celebrate African, African-American & Caribbean cultures from all parts of the world! This year’s Carnival will have three (3) stages showcasing dance, art, music and dress from various regions throughout Africa and the Caribbean with direct participation from the African community & Cultural groups, consulates and embassies from the city’s five boroughs and NY Region.

Harlem Meer Performance Festival

WHEN: July 17- Aug. 21, Sundays, 2-4pm
WHERE: Central Park - Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, 110th Street between Lenox Avenue and Fifth Avenue, Central Park
WHAT: Enjoy a variety of performances featuring multicultural music, dance, and family-friendly entertainment while admiring the Meer-side views.

Waterfront Festival

WHEN: Saturday, July 30, 12-3pm
WHERE: Randall's Island Park, 10 Central Rd., Randall's Island
WHAT: Head to the annual Waterfront Festival and enjoy games, nature crafts, face painting and science learning, including bubbles with Bubbledad, as well as a live performance by Arm-of-the-Sea Theater. Location: Living Shoreline

Festival Minokan: A Celebration of Haitian Culture

WHEN: Saturday, July 23, 4-8pm
WHERE: Wyckoff House Museum, 5816 Clarendon Road, East Flatbush
WHAT: Festival Minokan invites all members of the community to participate in the rich traditions of Haitian culture and Haitian Vodou. Honor spirits and ancestors, praise the Earth, and rejoice in song and dance together. Explore the history of Vodou and the Haitian diaspora through artist’s talks, dance, song, and food. This year, Festival Minokan will be focusing on the sacred site of Seremoni Nanchon Nago. Traditional food, drink, and crafts will be available for purchase.

5th Annual Jamaica Bay Festival

WHEN: Saturday, July 16, 9am-3pm
WHERE: Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, Cross Bay Blvd, Broad Channel
WHAT: The Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy will host the 5th Annual Jamaica Bay Festival, an In Your Neighborhood program on City of Water Day. During the Festival, nature and water enthusiasts can paddle in the kayak parade, see wildlife, learn to fish and go biking or sailing while enjoying the beauty of Jamaica Bay and the surrounding community.

Thunderbird American Indian Powwow

WHEN: July 29 through July 31, Friday, 7-10pm; Saturday, 12-5pm and 7-10pm; Sunday, 12-5pm
WHERE: Queens County Farm Museum, 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park
WHAT: Celebrate American Indian Culture through music, dance, Native American crafts and food. This spectacular 3-day powwow features intertribal Native American dance competitions by over forty Indian Nations. Program features an expansive market of authentic Native American art, crafts, jewelry and food. The Thunderbird American Indian Powwow connects the public to ancient Native American traditions and cultures and to each other.
Admission: 1 Day Pass: $15, $8 ages 2-12; 3 Day Pass: $30, $16 ages 2-12.

Bronx Night Market

WHEN: Saturday, July 30, 1-7pm
WHERE: Fordham Plaza , 1 Fordham Plaza , Bronx
AGES: All
WHAT: Come out to the largest family friendly foodie celebration in the Bronx complet with food vendors, kid zone, education booths, and more. 
Admission: Free. Prices vary for food and experiences.

July 2022 NYC Carnivals and Festivals in Westchester

Hispanic Heritage Festival

WHEN: Sunday, July 10, 12-6pm
WHERE: Kenisco Dam Plaza, 1 Bronx River Parkway, Valhalla
WHAT: Celebrate Hispanic culture at the Hispanic Heritage Festival with dancing, arts and crafts, food, and special activities for children. The festival will be held rain or shine. Seating is informal; bring blankets or folding chairs for seating on the lawn.

Bash the Trash

WHEN: Wednesday, July 13, 6:30-7:30pm
WHERE: Cross County Center, 8000 Mall Walk, Yonkers
AGES: 2-12
WHAT: Kids are invited to attend a Bash the Trash music fest where they will create their own instruments from recycled materials and get to play them in a performance at the event.

#CoverLoverRemix Courtyard DJ Party!

Arts In The Plaza

WHAT: Arts In The Plaza is Long Beach's Weekly Arts Festival featuring handcrafted art by Long Island artists and live music!

Empire State Fair Long Island 

WHEN: June 30- July 10, Mondays-Fridays, 5-11pm; Saturdays and Sundays, 12-11pm
WHERE: Nassau Live Center, 1255 Hempstead Turnpike, Uniondale 
WHAT: The all-new fair features amazing entertainment such as the Royal Hanneford Big Top Circus, Kid Bucks Game Show, an educational experience at the Exotic Animal Zoo, and brand-new amusement rides and attractions! 
Admission: $10; FREE admission for children under 36'; Ride bracelets start at $35; Individual ride tickets start at $1.50. 



Lynbrook Titans Carnival

WHEN: July 7-10, Thursday, 5-10pm; Friday, 5-11pm; Saturday, 12-11pm; Sunday, 12-10pm
WHERE: Greis Park, 55 Wilbur Street, Lynbrook
WHAT: Enjoy midway fun for the whole family at this youth football fundraiser featuring rides and games for all ages and favorite fair food.

St. Rocco Festival

WHEN: July 7-10, Thursday, 6-10pm; Friday and Saturday, 6-11pm; Sunday, 5-9pm
WHERE: Fireman's Field, Shore Ave., Oyster Bay
WHAT: Celebrate the annual Feast of St. Rocco with Italian Food trucks, Deserts and Coffee by the Italian American Ladies Auxiliary, Newton Rides & games (get your ride bracelet online from Newton rides), a 10K Raffle, Fireworks Friday Night.

50th Family Festival

WHEN: July 14-23, 7/14-7/17, 6:30-11pm; 7/20-7/23, 6:30-11pm
WHERE: St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church , 2 Bayview Ave., Massapequa
WHAT: Carnival games, exciting rides, nightly entertainment and a wide variety of food trucks are all part of the fun!

Best Feast In The East

WHEN: July 27-31, Wednesday-Friday, 6-10pm; Saturday and Sunday, 3-6:30pm

Terryville Fire Department Carnival

Huntington Manor Fireman's Fair

WHEN: July 19-23, Tuesday-Friday, 6-11pm; Saturday, 5-12am; Wednesday, Fireman's Parade 7:30pm
WHERE: Henry L. Stimson Middle School , 401 Oakwood Road, Huntington
WHAT: After two long years everyone's favorite fair is back! Bring the family out for rides, games, food, fun and fireworks! Be there for the Firemen's Parade on Wednesday starting at the Jefferson School (253 Oakwood Road) and continuing to the Henry L. Stimson Middle School (401 Oakwood Road). Fireworks Wednesday-Saturday.

Alive After Five® 2022

State Fair Meadowlands

WHEN: Through July 10, Monday and Tuesday, 6pm-12am; Wednesday, 5pm-12am; Thursday, 6pm-12am; Friday, 6pm-1am; Saturday, 2pm-1am; Sunday, 2pm-12am
WHERE: Meadowlands, Meadowlands Fairgrounds, East Rutherford
WHAT: With over 100 rides, free shows, and 50 food options, this Fair has something for all ages.
Admission: $38.99

The Nyack Famous Street Fair

WHEN: Sunday, July 10, 10am-5pm
WHERE: Nyack, Main Street and Broadway, Nyack
WHAT: The Nyack Famous Street Fair returns to this historic rivertown. Don’t miss a great day of family fun where you will be sure to find something for everyone. Two hundred and fifty exhibitors with arts, crafts, new retail, home decor and gifts will be participating at this shopping and dining event.  All types of festival foods will be available as well as Nyack’s many outdoor cafes and restaurants. Be sure to make a stop at the NY Soda Jerks for one of their old fashion soda or egg creams. All day music will be played at the gazebo on Main Street and folk music on Broadway.

Palisades Center Carnival

The Orange County Fair 

WHEN: July 14-31, Thursdays and Fridays, 4-11pm; Saturdays and Sundays, 1-11pm
WHERE: Orange County Fair Speedway, 239 Wisner Ave., Middletown
WHAT: Find rides, attractions, and non-stop action, at this long time family favorite fair. 
WANT TO GO? $10; $7 seniors 65 and older and kids 7-12; free admission for children younger than 6; additional fee for rides and select shows. 

New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning

WHEN: July 29-31, Friday, 1pm; Saturday and Sunday, 6am
WHERE: Solberg Airport, 39 Thor-Solberg Road, Whitehouse Station
WHAT: The New Jersey Festival of Ballooning is “more than hot air” because it offers a wide variety of entertainment. From colorful hot air balloons ascending twice daily to 3 headline concerts, to world-class children’s entertainment, to hundred’s of arts & crafters, to food vendors from around the world, fireworks, balloon glows and more- there will be something for everyone!
Admission: $32-$40; $12-$15 children 4-12; free for children younger than 4.
