Reduced Admission to Summer of Hamilton Until Labor Day

Reduced Admission to Summer of Hamilton Until Labor Day

Families who want to enjoy Summer of Hamilton at the New-York Historical Society are in luck because from now until Labor Day admission will cost, well, a Hamilton. Visitors can discover everything the New-York Historical Society has to offer with special $10 museum admission, according to a press release.

Summer of Hamilton is a museum-wide celebration of the life and legacy of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, who has become very popular recently thanks to the success of the Broadway smash Hamilton. Summer of Hamilton features artifacts and documents from the collections of the New-York Historical Society and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, including life-size bronze statues depicting Hamilton and Burr with pistols drawn and aimed at one another; the monumental tall case clock presented by Hamilton in 1797 to the Bank of New York; Hamilton’s desk at which the prolific writer penned numerous correspondence; and documents that help answer the question posed in the musical?“who tells your story”.

There are also interactive Friday evening programs, including a free film series that looks at the musicals that inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton and family-friendly activities every weekend.  In addition, there are other family-friendly programs, like The Art and Whimsy of Mo Willems, special installations, and even a Hamilton-inspired book club.

The $10 Museum Admission offer is good for in-person ticket purchases only and is not available online. The offer may not be combined with other discounts. Pay-as-you-wish Friday Nights (6 pm  ?  8 pm) is still in effect.
