Riverhead Bowling Alley Offers After-School Student Discount

Riverhead Bowling Alley Offers After-School Student Discount

The All Star, a dining and entertainment facility in Riverhead, will offer an after-school discount for area students with ID. The All Star, which features bowling, will also have a quiet place for after-school tutoring and homework sessions.

The All Star in Riverhead has an answer for kids looking for a fun, noncompetitive after school activity: bowling. The bowling, dining, and entertainment facility is gearing up for the school year with new student bowling leagues and a new Tutor Room for teachers and students.

The All Star already offers many different bowling leagues, but as the school year approaches, the alley is adding to its list by starting the student league. These leagues are for all ages and skill levels, says Diana Canizio, executive manager at The All Star, and geared toward kids who don’t play other after-school sports. They are not meant to be competitive.

With their school ID, kids of all ages can play two games for $8 Monday-Friday from 2-5pm on a few of the All Star’s 22 glow-in-the-dark lanes, which feature black lights, music, and large projection screens playing music videos. There is no need to sign up in advance or to have prior experience with bowling. For an additional price, students can enjoy all the regular amenities at the All Star, including an arcade and plenty of food.

In addition, the All Star plans to use its catering room, which Canizio calls “a quiet room away from the hustle and bustle,” to create an open Tutor Room. The Tutor Room will be a place where students and teachers can come together to learn or go over schoolwork in an environment outside of the classroom.

Children do not need to register in advance for student after-school leagues, and can join in a group or on their own. Teachers should contact The All Star to book the Tutor Room.
