Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink Announces Potential Permanent Closure

Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink Announces Potential Permanent Closure

Due to uncertainty surrounding the safety of reopening, Victorian Gardens won't reopen for the 2020 season, and potentially 2021.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the safety of reopening of amusement parks in New York City, Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink in Central Park has made the decision to not open for the 2020 season and may close permanently. Victorian Gardens was prepared to open safely following the initial directives that amusement parks would be allowed to open in NYC during phase four. Since Victorian Gardens' normal operating season is coming to a close and it has still yet to open for the year, it will not be able to open this season at all.

Victorian Gardens has been committed to safety and it drives their decision making with respect to reopening going forward. 2020 has been a very difficult year for Victorian Gardens and the entire team misses its guests and the genuine joy the park brought to the community.

In a letter to the friends and supporters of Victorian Gardens at Central Park, the Zamperla family announced that it is unlikely that Victorian Gardens will return to Central Park in 2021. All 2020 Victorian Gardens pass holders, the letter said, are eligible to exchange their purchase for a 2021 Luna Park in Coney Island Luna Pass.
