Children will delight in nursery rhymes set to song and gain critical reading skills at the same time! Support materials in both English and Spanish.

Good Deed of the Month Club (all ages)
4th Saturday of each month, 11am

 

A Vibrant, Colorful Place for Play and Discovery

The Westchester Children’s Museum, overlooking the boardwalk and Long Island Sound in Rye, NY, is a light-filled, colorful learning space filled with hands-on exhibits not found anywhere else in this region. The Museum offers experiences in physicsscience, art, technology, design, with places to climb, build, and explore for toddlers through age 12.

Open Wednesday through Sunday, 10am - 4pm

Available for field trips and group visits on Mondays and Tuesdays (reservations required)

Interactive Exhibits

We are not a museum to hang back and observe, we want you to play, explore, think...Exhibits and daily programs in our 6,500-square-feet of interactive galleries range from the physics of rollercoaster design to the science, art, and design challenges in our MakerSpace. http://discoverwcm.org/current-exhibits/

Programs for Preschoolers through Middle Schoolers

Activities in the Museum are always changing. You will always find something new at our STEM MakerSpace and our art table.       Weekly science-based "drop-in" program designed for children 2-5

      Museum Minis
      Toddlers and caregivers meet up for games, song, movement, and stories

      Exploring Play
      Designed for children ages 2 to 4, featuring thematic activities; song; story and a take
      home project

      First Saturday Art Workshop
      Drop in for hands on art projects, led by craft specialists

      Good Deed of the Month Club
      Kindness-themed book reading and discussion followed by an art-educator led good deed
      project.

      Rhyme and Read
      Young children age 2-5 can learn to read through song in this innovative, successfully
       tested reading program. Materials in both English and Spanish.

      Science Sunday
      Drop in for hands on STEM experiments and fun for kids age 7+

Birthday Parties

The Westchester Children’s Museum now offers the newest and most creative place for birthday parties in the region! Our exhibits and hands-on activities are available for your exclusive use, because our parties start when the Museum is closed to the public. Highlights include a t-shirt for the birthday child and free passes for every party guest for a return visit.

Group Visits/Field Trips

We welcome camps, schools, and large groups, such as community organizations and Newcomer Clubs, as well as groups with specialized needs, to make the Westchester Children’s Museum their site for unique, enriching field trips. Groups have exclusive use of the Museum with prior reservation on Mondays and Tuesdays when the Museum is closed to the general public.
